MATH 053 - Beginning Algebra Credits: 4 Lecture Contact Hours: 4 Description: This course will explore the real number system, fundamental operations with real numbers, graphing, linear equations, factoring polynomials, rational expressions, exponents, quadratic equations, applications and introduction to the function concept.
Prerequisites: MATH 047 with a minimum grade of 2.0 or a minimum score of 16 ACT-Math, 22 SAT-Math, 75-CPT-Arithmetic, 28 CPT-Elementary Algebra, 260 NGA-Arithmetic or 230 NGA-Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra and Statistics. Corequisites: None. Recommended: None.
