SOC 211 - Sociology of Gender Credits: 3 Lecture Contact Hours: 3 Description: This course examines the social and cultural construction of gender differences and sociological theories of gender. It also explores the historical and contemporary statuses and roles of women and men in various institutions. In addition, this course surveys the conditions that affect the lives of global women and women in the United States who are from diverse backgrounds including social class, disability, race, ethnicity and religious minorities.
