PLAST 220 - Plastic Part Design Credits: 3 Lecture Contact Hours: 2 Lab Contact Hours: 1 Description: This course provides an understanding of plastic part design. Students will learn design requirements, design features, quality and tolerances, plastic material selection for specific processes, part costs and rapid prototyping techniques. Emphasis will be placed on part design for injection molding. Part design for compression molding, blow molding, extrusion, thermoforming and composite manufacturing processes also will be covered.
Prerequisites: PLAST 130 . PLAST 131 . PLAST 150 . Corequisites: None. Recommended: None.
