MATH 111 - Applications - Utility of Math Credits: 4 Lecture Contact Hours: 4 Description: This course is intended for students who do not wish to pursue the study of mathematics by following the standard sequence of courses, but who need to develop some competency in mathematics for an Associate of Arts degree. This course includes the practical application of mathematics. Topics covered in the course include geometry, managing money, interest, installment buying, credit cards, loans, probability, statistics and graphing.
Prerequisites: MATH 047 with a minimum grade of 2.0 or a minimum score of 16 ACT-Math, 22 SAT-Math, 75 CPT-Arithmetic, 28 CPT-Elementary Algebra, 260 NGA-Arithmetic or 230 NGA-Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra and Statistics. Corequisites: None. Recommended: None.
