CIS 171 - Introduction to Networking Credits: 3 Lecture Contact Hours: 3 Description: This course introduces students to the key concepts of data communications, telecommunications and networking. The course provides a solid introduction to networking fundamentals including key acronyms, protocols and components that are essential to understanding how networks operate today. Upon completion, the student will have a solid understanding of how information travels from a source computer to a destination computer across a complex network.
