EARTH 215 - Applied GIS Credits: 3 Lecture Contact Hours: 3 Description: This course examines the intermediate level use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and is taken after EARTH 210 It includes the analysis of spatial phenomenon in the natural and social sciences, as well as other fields such as planning, natural resource management, policy, economics and more. Course topics include the intermediate application of map design, data incorporation and GIS programing elements. Student requirements include the completion of a GIS project from start to finish, including data collection, database management, analysis and presentation.

Course Competencies
- Manipulate spatial and tabular data in a Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
