Description: In this course, gynecology utilizing ultrasound are studied. This includes physiology, pathology, pathophysiology, patient care and imaging techniques. The focus is on normal and abnormal anatomy sonographic patterns. Emphasis is placed on clinical history, physical assessment, and correct exam protocol.

Explain exam preparation, the significance of clinical history and exam technique.
Recognize normal anatomy and physiology of a non-gravid female pelvis.
Assess clinical symptoms, pathologic and physiologic sonographic findings related to congenital abnormalities and pelvic pathologies.
Evaluate gynecologic topics including the post-menopausal uterus, endometrial disorders, pelvic masses, and case studies related to each.
Explain indications for gynecologic sonography and clinical ethics.
Compare the sonographic appearance of the normal vs abnormal female pelvis.
Outline the course of infertility management related to ultrasound imaging.
Explore case studies related to gynecological ultrasound images and pathological processes.
Examine factors that affect the quality of gynecologic ultrasound images and corrective action needed to improve images.
Recognize patient needs and appropriate responses to given circumstances.
