SURG 220 - Surgical Pathology Credits: 2 Lecture Contact Hours: 2 Description: Students will learn about the effects of disease that require the patient to have surgical intervention. Each surgical procedure and specialty will cover common laboratory values, diagnostic studies, and patient pathology. Surgical approach for each intervention will be discussed along with the rationale for how the approach is determined, based on individual need. Possible patient outcomes and recovery for each procedure will be included after each specialty is evaluated. Students must pass course successfully with a 3.0 or better to continue in the program.
