MUSIC 257 - Piano Teaching Techniques and Materials 2 Credits: 3 Lecture Contact Hours: 3 Description: This course explores the relationship between development and intermediate piano study. The content and structure of an intermediate piano student’s preparation will be examined. This is the second course in a series and emphasizes techniques and methods for the intermediate piano student, including the following topics: intermediate methods and materials, repertoire, supplemental and functional skills and the knowledge of professional organizations. This course requires all students must meet the requirements of a criminal background check.
Prerequisites: MUSIC 247 or consent of department Corequisites: None. Recommended: None.
