MUSIC 243 - Practice Teaching and Practicum in Piano Teaching 3 Credits: 2 Lecture Contact Hours: 1 Lab Contact Hours: 1 Description: Piano teachers will learn to create and present effective lesson plans that include repertoire, theory concepts, rhythm, tone, touch and hand position through the third semester of piano study. Students will have the opportunity to observe other teachers and students, as well as to teach late intermediate to early advanced piano students in the Schoolcraft Piano Academy and in the community. This course requires all students must meet the requirements of a criminal background check.
