Schoolcraft program code #PAC.0P280/PAC.00280

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging post-associate certificate is designed for those students who are registered Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Radiation Therapists (ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technologists (ARRT or NMTCB), and Sonographer (ARRT or ARDMS).  It is not necessary to hold an associate’s degree to be in this program.  The program consists of traditional or online didactic courses and professionally supervised clinical training performed at a local clinical site.

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) program provides the knowledge that will enable students to enter the workforce as entry-level MRI technologists. The program prepares the post-graduate technologist to use MRI to diagnose diseases and injuries.  During an MRI, the resonant frequency properties of atoms are used within a magnetic field to image the anatomic and/or physiologic conditions of the body.  MRI is an exciting advancing technology in the field of Radiology.

The post-associate certificate is awarded upon successful completion of 16 credits.  Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take the ARRT post-primary certification examination in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

Mission:

The mission of the Schoolcraft College Magnetic Resonance Imaging post-associate certificate program is to serve the community by providing an educational setting where students will receive the advanced training and knowledge necessary to enter the profession as entry-level MRI technologists.  Graduates will exemplify qualities of excellence in patient care, professionalism, safety, and ethical behavior thereby enhancing the healthcare experience of the patients we serve.
