This program teaches students how to blend traditional art techniques with skill using professional graphic design software to create illustrative, fine art and graphic media. By including instruction in color, type, image structure, production planning and marketing, the program prepares students for a wide range of jobs within the design industry.
Students who satisfactorily complete the program requirements qualify for a certificate of program completion.
Program Outcomes
- Apply design elements and principles to create effective visual communication.
- Use the design and production processes to create appropriate media.
- Practice professional behavior with respect to clients and peers (speaking, cooperating, communicating, respect, integrity).
- Develop a sensitivity to image development, design and visual relationships in two dimensional visual communications.
- Develop critical visual judgement skills in Graphic Arts.
- Develop products that reflect social and cultural awareness.
- Use Graphic Arts tools efficiently.

Creating Your Academic Plan
