This program is available in a completely online format for students who possess a firefighter certification or who will not require them. This program’s emphasis is designed for students who seek promotions or desire a professional position in the public or private fire service sectors and provides students with a wide knowledge base of the fire service and public safety. Students in this emphasis will have the education necessary to work in administrative, preventive, investigative, and educational areas of the fire service.

Schoolcraft’s Online Fire and Emergency Services Associate Degree program is nationally recognized by the U.S. Fire Administration through the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) initiative.
Program Outcomes
- Analyze the national firefighter life safety initiatives, focusing on the need for cultural and behavioral change throughout the emergency services
- Perform fire prevention activities including preplanning, public education, inspection, and investigation
- Evaluate a fire scene for necessary resources related to the fire cause, spread, control and documentation
- Evaluate fire protection systems including alarms, suppression systems, water supply and ventilation
- Interpret the organization and standards/regulations of the fire protection and emergency services in the public and private sectors including career opportunities and nomenclature

Creating Your Academic Plan
