Computer Information Systems: Cybersecurity Certificate

This program prepares students for the exciting and rapidly advancing Cybersecurity field. A thorough foundation is provided in networking and operating systems, while also covering advanced security topics including design, vulnerability and penetration testing, and defense technologies. 

Program Outcomes

  • Demonstrate knowledge of information assurance and security design fundamentals
  • Assess risks, threats, vulnerabilities or other weaknesses in information systems and appropriate solutions to mitigate them
  • Demonstrate understanding of TCP/IP and OSI models and related protocols
  • Explain cryptographic systems and their appropriate use
  • Create simple scripts or programs using fundamental programming techniques
  • Outline laws, policies, ethical considerations and responsibilities related to cyber defense
