Schoolcraft College offers educational programs to meet a wide variety of needs. The Teacher Education Transfer Program is designed to enable individuals who wish to become effective elementary or secondary education teachers to begin their professional studies at Schoolcraft and transfer into a teacher education program at a university.  The Alternative Route to Interim Teacher Certification (ARC) Programs are Michigan Department of Education-approved teacher preparation programs allowing individuals, with an earned Bachelor’s degree to obtain initial certification or add endorsements to a current teaching certificate. Unlike the traditional teacher preparation program, the alternative route candidate’s certification or endorsement(s) is not contingent on their academic major or minor but rather on passage of the appropriate Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) and completion of program requirements.
