OSH 111 - Occupational Safety and Health for General Industry Credits: 2 Lecture Contact Hours: 2 Lab Contact Hours: 0.5 Description: This course serves as a safety and health training program designed for general industry personnel. The course will cover employee rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards. Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) standards that relate to hazard identification and control will be covered. This course is “OSHA-authorized.” Therefore, students who successfully complete the course are eligible for the OSHA 30 hour card in General Industry.
