EDUC 110 - Child Development

Description: This course is designed to provide students an overview of development from the prenatal time period through emerging adulthood. The course will concentrate on physical, cognitive, social and emotional development in the prenatal, infancy, toddler, preschool, middle childhood, adolescence and emerging adulthood. Emphasis is placed on understanding development in the context of educational settings. Students will complete observations of three different children. Michigan Central Registry Clearance by the Michigan Department of Human Services may be required for this course. This course requires all students must meet the requirements of a criminal background check.

Prerequisites: Minimum score of 18 ACT-Reading, 25 SAT-Reading, 70 CPT-Reading Comprehension or 250 NGA-Reading. Minimum score of 18 ACT-English, 25 SAT-Writing and Language, 71 CPT-Sentence Skills or 250 NGA-Writing
